How to Fix Low FPS and Stuttering in How to Fish
Frame time spikes track with how much is being simulated, not with scenery detail.
The physics is the load, not the scenery. Moving around the map, or a lot of objects reacting at once, is what spikes frame time.
So lower the settings that drive simulation and overdraw first:
- Water, particles and shadows — these three before anything else.
- Cap the framerate at 60 in your GPU control panel. Leaving it uncapped keeps the CPU pinned at 100%, which is what turns into stutter.
- Then, if you still need headroom, drop resolution scale rather than texture quality.
